It’s Music and More
Music makes our worship more moving, a rich blessing for others.
What's more? Participation gives young people experiences of cooperation, teamwork, responsibility, and community—all while striving for musical excellence.
The music we do is quite varied: spirituals and music of American composers, motets in Latin—though sometimes in German or French, too—along with the vast repertoire of the English Cathedral tradition.
We are a diverse and closely-knit community of adults and young people, and we're very welcoming towards new singers and new families.
Possible Programs for Children ages 5 and up
Two programs for children we would like to start is a Young Singer Program for Boys & Girls, ages 5–7 (K–2nd grade) and our Chorister Program for Boys & Girls, ages 8–up (3rd grade and up), a long tradition at this church. We need a good handful of singers in either or both programs to get them going again, so if you know of a child that might be interested, please email our organist and choirmaster, Daniel Fortune.
Singing for Adults
We have roughly 30 in our main choir of adult Men & Women, but we're always grateful to have more singers. From September–May, the Men & Women rehearse on Thursday nights from 6:45–8:15pm. (Thursday rehearsals will resume on September 7, 2023.)
If you are interested in joining our choir as an adult singer, please fill out our Adult Singer Interest Form or contact Daniel Fortune.
Summer Choir available to all Adults
In the summer, available Men & Women from our choir sing a 2-part anthem each Sunday at the 10:00am service. Rehearsal starts at 9:00am in the Choir Room.
Even if you can’t join the choir during the regular September to May season, in the summer we welcome all adults who want to sing. We rehearse the music ahead several weeks, and the music in the summer is particularly straightforward and tuneful, keeping it a very friendly experience for guests! |
Choir Calendar
Our Choir Calendar shows all the rehearsals and services/events the choir sings. The 2023–2024 season is still being finalized.
