Children benefit from coming to church with their parents, worshiping and learning in age-appropriate ways, as part of our larger church family. During the week, for children 3–5, we offer one of Akron’s oldest preschools.
We welcome children to all of our church services, though the service at 10:00 a.m. in the Church is most suitable.

Infants and Toddlers
Child care for infants and toddlers is provided by trained professionals on Sundays on the third level, in our Education Wing, from 9:00 – 11:30am.
Programs
Children benefit from worshiping and serving at church with their parents. On the first Sunday of the month we invite our children to take part in Family Sunday where they can explore ways to worship and/or serve with their family. We all start worship together at 10:00am in the Sanctuary, then at the Gospel, children ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to join Miss Beth in the Chapel for an age-appropriate sermon and songs. The children rejoin their families at the Peace. On the second, third, fourth (and fifth) Sundays, Sunday School (up in the Education Wing) runs concurrently with the worship service. Children ages 4 through 6th grade meet in the glass classroom with Miss Beth and a rotating team of teachers. The Sunday School lessons come from Illustrated Ministries and are Lectionary-based. The children in this mixed age group have an opportunity to learn from each other and form lasting friendships.
Students in 7th – 12th grade meet in Room 211 with David Shahata, our Youth Assistant, where they receive Confirmation instruction as well as lessons that will help them form a personal relationship with God. We all join the worship service before Communion.
During The Week: A Fantastic Preschool!
Our Preschool has been in existence since 1954, for children ages 3–5. It also provides Time for Two, a program for children between the ages of 18–36 months.
