A Meditation on the Passion of Christ, with Carols
The Choir of Men and Boys and the St. Cecilia Choir of Girls
This service was by conceived by Dr. George Guest and a dean of St. John's College Chapel, Cambridge as a way for their collegiate community to experience the various aspects of Holy Week in one liturgy. Adapted by Dr. Dale Adelmann for use in church communities, the service is a journey through Christ's experience in Gethsemane, his trial, and crucifixion, and centers around the singing of those gospel narratives, which are interspersed with readings, as well as carols and hymns sung by the choir and congregation. It is a moving service which is a perfect precursor to Holy Week.
