Family Promise formerly the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Summit County (“IHN”)

Family Promise formerly the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Summit County (“IHN”) is a consortium of faith congregations which opened its doors in 2004 and cares for families in need of shelter, meals and compassionate assistance that lead them to secure a stable home environment. Families who have been accepted into the IHN program are housed by a host congregation Sunday through Saturday of a rotation week. Supporting congregations provide food and fellowship for the IHN guests on assigned days of the week. St. Paul’s is one of 30 supporting congregations for IHN, working with the Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ (about five minutes from St. Paul's) four to five times per year, preparing and sharing meals with guests, providing volunteers to spend the night on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of our rotation weeks, and providing volunteers to staff the Family Center on the weekend days of our rotations.

St. Paul’s raises funds for IHN in various ways throughout the year, for instance through the annual Souper Bowl fundraiser and the Walk a Mile in My Shoes event, but financial contributions are welcome at any time.  New volunteers are always welcome.  Volunteers may be adults or teenagers accompanied by an adult.  Volunteers are also asked to attend a two-hour training session.
