Easter Campaign for Mission Projects

The Easter Campaign for Mission Projects allows people at St. Paul’s to participate in giving during the Lent and Easter seasons for our special outreach efforts in Akron, other parts of the United States and the world. These funds are used for major mission projects such as building houses with Habitat for Humanity; taking mission trips to other parts of the United States and abroad; and engaging in various projects in those locations, including construction, education, and other mission outreach. A sampling of Easter Mission Projects supported by funds from this annual campaign include:

In 2015, St. Paul's will build our ninth Habitat for Humanity house since 2000. Our church will join hands with several other local parishes in a “Common Mission Coalition” for this new two-story home in Akron. This is one of the ways we proclaim the gospel in our own deeds.

Our long-term commitment in Haiti will be continuing this year as we work to fund not only the construction to which we have long been committed, but also the reconstruction necessary in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake.  Projects in St. Etiene include a new church, cantina, and medical clinic.  St. Paul’s members in the past have worked with 2 other Episcopal churches to build a new school that now serves 600 children. Support continuing this initiative in St. Etienne, Haiti with a contribution to your Easter Fund.

Youth Mission Trips in the United States have been an ongoing exciting opportunity for youth and adults for the last several years. Our young parishioners have worked hard with their adult leaders by joining hands with youth from other parts of the country in Niagara Falls, New York; Mon Valley, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Birmingham, Alabama.  Summer 2016 will see our youth working in the small town of Red House, West Viginia. Get involved as a trip participant or leader for a truly life-changing experience.  And consider a contribution to the Easter Campaign to help defray some of the costs for these endeavors.
