Praise, Proclamation, Community, and Service
The mission of the music program at St Paul's is to proclaim the gospel through music, and to glorify God with our lips and in our lives. We lead our congregation in praising and knowing God, enabling, we trust, all of us to sing and participate more fully in this praise of God . We invite others into the musical life of our congregation. And we work so that all singers and instrumentalists, especially young people, can flourish musically and spiritually in a nurturing and creative environment. The great Anglican motto for inclusivity comes from Psalm 150: "Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord."
Our Three Choirs
We have three choirs: The St. Cecilia Choir of Girls, The St. Catherine’s Choir of Women, and The Choir of Men and Boys.
We base our training for boys and girls on a program developed by the Royal School of Church Music. Choristers master key concepts, receiving ribbons and medals, which they wear over their vestments, as they progress. Ribbon training for the boys and girls is held prior to and during rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, led by Marcia and Carl Giordano, choristers here themselves and former music teachers.
Rehearsal schedules for each choir are given on their own pages.
A full calendar of rehearsals, services, and other events is available to all choristers and parents on our Calendar page.
